If you do some research you will find that virtual tradeshows have been around for awhile but I would guess that the technology is improving as each day passes. The concept is growing in popularity and I have decided to be the pioneer, so to speak, and bring a virtual event to retail insurance producers throughout the United States. Years of marketing in the insurance industry keeps my mind thinking of new solutions for my clients, so here we are!

Do you attend tradeshows and if so, what benefit do you get? If not, why?

Having attended many insurance tradeshows over the years as both an agent and vendor, I believe that the active exchange of ideas is the principal benefit to a show. And of course it is great to catch up with old friends – a great source of those ideas. Sometimes you go in with a clear purpose: learn about this new productivity tool, give the carrier rep an earful, or in the case of a vendor, get the word out about our fantastic new XYZ. I have gone to other trade shows over the years but attendance and market coverage has dwindled recently. The Virtual Insurance Marketplace is a brilliant idea and I will be attending. I have know Anita Nevins for several years and if she is heading this up, it will be a MAJOR success. It gives many of us busy agents the ability to take advantage of all the things at a normal trady show without leaving our desk. Thanks Anita!
